BIM-The industry revolution

Currently, BIM is the paradigm of the architecture, engineering, and construction industry for the planning, development, and management of the assets of this industry. As defined in the NTC-ISO 19650 Standard, it is the “Use of a shared digital representation of a built asset to facilitate the design, construction and operation processes, and provide a reliable basis for decision making”.

In this context, the BIM methodology takes advantage of its incursion in the midst of the data revolution to bring to this industry a series of tools and workflows focused on the creation and management of asset information, making use of three-dimensional models of the same, which in turn function as a documentary base, thus facilitating all the decision-making, management and administration processes of said assets throughout their life cycle.

What kind of projects can it be applied to?

It has workflows for all of its stages, from planning, design, analysis, documentation, construction, schedule of times and costs, operation, maintenance, renovation, and even its demolition.

Life cycle of a Project

Planning

BIM Execution Plan is created and together with the Technical Committees the project start

Information gathering and definition of criteria

Starts with an Initial Information Gathering, this one validates and defines the design principles.

Studies and Designs

The process of Design and Modeling is carried out and the designs are validated by a BIM Manager

Design Audit

Approved designs go through a process of Integration into the Models, followed by the Coordination of them.

Documentation

Once the models are ready, the following is done:

- Extraction of quantities and budgets

- Generation of plans and designs

- Generation of Attached Documentation

Accompaniment

Tecnosoft then offers services of auditing and on-site support of the project

ADVANTAGES OF THE BIM METHODOLOGY

Digital Asset

When executing a project under the BIM methodology, a digital twin of the developed asset can be obtained, which, in addition to being a source of spatial information for the project, is also configured as a database with relevant information on each element of the project. This makes it easy to track and manage the asset.
